It seems that those who are the most self-assured of salvation, without introspection, are the one most likely to be on the "broad road."

Jesus said (Matt 13:44 ff) that the kingdom of God was like a fantastic pearl you might find- so valuable that you’d sell everything to buy it. He never said you needed to go to church to find it - in fact in the verses which follow (Matt 13::47 and ff) and appear elsewhere on the gospels, he teaches the concept that defining people as righteous just because they are in the “net” of the church is dead wrong. The church is not Christian -people within and outside the church can be if they decide to find the narrow gate and sacrifice to buy the pearl The church will always be adversely affected by egoists who drive it in their own direction. It doesn’t change the quality of the Pearl.
