Although Tanner Williams write from a secular higher education, he brings up some good points that integrate well into where I think you are going with this series. His post today at https://tannercwilliams.substack.com/p/who-taught-them-that .

As for education value, I was never attracted to low church Protestant schools, they never seemed to provide a love of learning, of a desire to investigate. Granted that was 40 years ago, but at that time I did have an interest in a Conservation Biology program at a small Catholic college where they emphasised both biological creation and Scriptural creation, something that I found the low church Protestant schools unable to do.

Higher education should be a pathway to make you think and investigate, not just an expensive job training program. As someone who has spent a lot of time researching both pre-Christian and pre-Viling Ireland, I have always been struck by the quality of their education programs, which included an emphasis on the spiritual, both pre-Christian and Christian.
