Second Sunday of Advent

A Poem

"Annunciation"

Behold the liminality,
the threshold, the doorstep.
The shimmering translucent membrane--
the thinnest of thin spaces.
Gateway to heaven
as innocuous as Jacob's pillow.
The pivot, the fulcrum of eternity.

Heaven and earth are hushed.

An angel awaits her answer.
