I am no scholar of Nietzsche but it seems to me a bit of a diservice to introduce his idea of the "transvaluation of values" without providing some degree of historical context. It feels like you are setting him up as a scarecrow to burn in your next blog post.
The church (referring, but limited to the Roman Catholic church) was of little or no help here since the ecclesiastical machinery embodied much of what Nietzshe was advocating.
