Having been a social worker, many years with struggling families, it is clear how difficult our society is for single parents. Two healthy parents are best, and there are many that should be dissolved due to violence or substance abuse. And this is a stimulating, diverse, and enticing society that encourages the me-first lifestyle. However, with capitalism now basically running this country, and social programs being the enemy of many, we are hurting children for so many reasons. Working couples with children struggle with the cost and are often leaving their family support systems for good jobs or other opportunities. This isn't just about divorce, but a society that hurts families, and does not take responsibility for it. There is nothing pro-life about it! Now here we are, and we are not turning back the clock. Maybe we should look at ways to help single parents families and invest in providing additional role models and care programs.... if it isn't too late.
