My take is yes sexually explicite films and photos are readily accessible, but internet access has not increased the use, only made it more visible. When you look at most really popular tv series, gratuitous sexual behavior occupies a lot of screen time.
I see much of this being able to be traced back to the purity culture, sort of what you can not have, you want even more.
That said, it is a big business, lots of money to be made. Humans, like everything else, are a commodity to be used and disposed of.
