As a therapist and Christian, I am appreciating this series. I’ve said “yes!” and “amen!” many times while reading and am also being challenged to clarify views and consider nuance. I look forward to more.

One amazing benefit digging deeper into understanding about my own mind &, through being a mentor, the minds of others is learning more about the mind & character of God. This goes with the idea that He made us in His image. Understanding His creation has also helped understand more about the enemy & the draws from him to deviate from who & how we were created. Mental illness does seem to be the fruits of possession by the enemy that doesn’t mean that God hasn’t given us a more expansive array of weapons to combat him (i.e. pharmacology, psychology, etc). The medical was a creation of our Creator, the real question our devotion to the Father through it all.

The deeper I’ve dug within myself & with others the more I’ve realized how much more there is to know, how much more my devotion is lacking & for me most importantly how big a role God’s grace plays in all of this existence on this rock.

"some Christians assume that secular psychotherapy, along with psychopharmacology, are not simply unnecessary, but spiritual and moral failures displaying a lack faith and trust in God"

While that's certainly true, some go even further and claim that to open oneself up to the influence of a counsellor/therapist is to open oneself up to malign and even demonic influences.
