In a Bible study group this weekend (here in Australia) I mentioned that fundamentalists follow Trump because they're accustomed to obeying power when it tells them what to do, even if it's based on lies.

One man said, "So biblical living is out?"

I replied, "I said nothing about the biblical living."

"Yes, you did!"

"No, I said fundamentalist not biblical."

"It's the same thing!"

"Not at all."

"Fine what is Biblical living, then?"

"Living like Jesus."

AND here's the God's honest truth of the matter, the followers of Jesus Christ have done both things; enacted social justice in the here and now as best it can be done and better than any other group of human beings have ever done it, and also proclaimed the ultimate social justice when Jesus soon returns to reign forever and ever as King of kings and Lord of lords!

For all the horrific failings of Christ's Bride in the last two thousand years, and there have been too many, Christianity is the only faith that has elevated the status of women and children, freed slaves, built schools, orphanages, and hospitals all around the world, even for our "enemies," and then fixed systems when they ran awry as all human systems will invariably do.

As imperfect as we and our efforts have been and continue to be, I do believe that King Jesus will one Day say to us, "Well done, thou good and faithful servants!"
