"Pneuma, by contrast, is the very "stuff" and "substance" of the celestial and heavenly realm" ... Or as Lewis would say: "Reality is harsh to the feet of shadows." Everything there will be much more solid than what we consider to be solid now.

This whole series has been very enlightening and thought-provoking. Thanks RIchard!

The bit about sarx is new to me. It seems suggestive of the possibility of a human-like form in a non-material context. But I'm not sure, because I don't totally grok this concept of sarx yet. What do you think?

Thx so much, Richard! This has been refreshing and enlightening.

Pneuma as extrinsic. Makes me think of the air we breathe in. (You’ve mentioned air previously in these. But it’s come back to mind for me here.) We breathe in air to receive life. In the same way we breathe in pneuma to receive life.

Interesting to consider what this means also, then, for imago dei. In my mind, I’ve long been settled into the idea that God is in each of us. This word study has my gears turning as to how it is that God does dwell within us. Is there, perhaps, more ways than one? God is in each of us as created beings inherently, but the regenerative, substantive life of God is only received extrinsically?

Thx for giving me all of this to chew on. 💜🙏
