I gotta think that when we get to heaven, we will find Rich and David the shepherd boy composing new songs for us and leading the Praise Team. Which of course will be all of us! Whoohoo!
Beautiful thought, Susie. I used to think that an eternity of singing God's praise might get a little wearisome or, even, boring after an eon or two. However, that's not all we will be doing in eternity. With all the "time" in all creation to play with, we will finally get to know one another like we've never had the time to do in the time starved here and now, every single person in our current lives, every single person ever created, and the "getting to know you" will be endlessly fascinating and rewarding. We'll have as much "Face Time" with Jesus too as we can possibly want. And we'll do creative fascinating things too. Rich Mullins and King David will sing our wonderful songs that we'll write there. And as to Heavenly choirs, modern neuroscience is discovering the marvelous chemical benefits that take place in our minds and bodies when we sing together. Talk about getting "high!" That's why we sing His praises in Heaven, I think. It's not for Him. It's for us. It's one of the most pleasurable things that He created us to do. Basically, it's what replaces sex, I think.
One of the many things I find so amazing about the Father & Jesus is that the freedom He had from possession & performance anxieties is available to us. Hallelujah! It’s like God knew we would need to know what that looked like, to be completely free, so He sent Jesus to us, for us. Jesus, on the other hand, wanted us to really know the Father, to have an all access pass to Him so He, Jesus, came to us to build & be the bridge. They both knew that a life “hidden in Him” was a) what we were built for & b) what would satisfy us how our hearts longed for satisfaction. The fact that this isn’t withheld from us sinners is astonishing. The even greater fact that He didn’t join our sin to be sinful like us but maintained His heavenly integrity, to even take it up to the level of identifying us with His own Royalty is mind blowing.
The freedom of Jesus is available to us at every turn of our day. All that’s required of us is that we ‘follow Him’.

Rich Mullins once wrote a song about this. https://youtu.be/hDx7B5MEmY8?feature=shared

PS: Thanks, Susie, for inspiring this morning's post. https://themjkxn.substack.com/p/sing-your-praise-to-the-lord
